Summer breeze

sing with me y’all…

SUMMER BREEZE / MAKE ME FEEL FINE
BLOWING THROUGH THE JASMINE IN MY MIND

I’m sure you made
the people and the pets
in this life
FEEL FINE
and that you will
forever be missed
inside the
Northwest protest
state of
MIND

I didnt know you
personally
But I have a feeling
on a metaphysical level
we were kindred spirits
to March with you
for Racial Justice
across one of capitalisms
rivers of commerce (I-5)
would’ve been
any Black prisoners privilege
because
to march with you
or to be in the trenches
with you
rebelling against the machine
with you
would’ve meant
I too
would be free
to fight for freedom
An irony only found in a
American oppressive system

when I heard of your departure
from this sacred but
sad scared scorched earth
and that you were ascending
back to the place of origins
the mystic home of
Black Lives Matters
Birth
I’m reminded of our
true connection
not the social contract
or construct
that divides us
but to the essence
of the ethereal aesthetics
that binds us

you and your comrade
(Diaz Love)
stood up in protest
for he and him —
(George Floyd)
now the protesters
will stand up for you
they and them
yes…
I will also say your name
when I am fighting for…
Transformational
change

say it with me y’all…

say
they and them name
Summer Taylor
